About the School
YCIS Shanghai Ronghua introduces children to the YCIS approach through caring relationships, purposeful play and close partnerships with families. Chinese and international co-teachers work together to support children’s development, with English and Chinese woven into everyday routines, conversations and activities. The focus is on helping children feel secure, valued and ready to learn.
Located on West Ronghua Avenue, YCIS Shanghai Ronghua is designed around the needs of young learners. Flexible learning spaces and opportunities for creative, sensory and outdoor exploration encourage children to investigate their surroundings, express their ideas and become more independent.
YCIS Shanghai aims to develop capable, compassionate global leaders who serve others and take meaningful action to improve the world.
We believe that the core purpose of education is character formation, and it is the most important shared responsibility of the school and home.
We believe that each child is unique, with innate talents and gifts that should be nurtured to the fullest potential.
We believe that quality student-teacher relationships are at the heart of meaningful engagement, leading to highly effective learning and teaching.
We believe that Learning Communities best enable students and teachers to creatively and holistically explore different fields of knowledge, fostering individual and collaborative learning skills that are critical for the 21st century.
We believe in equipping our graduates with a deep respect for and understanding of world cultures, mastery of Chinese and English, plus proficiency in other modern languages, as well as a strong commitment to meeting challenges of their generation.
YCIS places character development at the centre of education. It values each child’s abilities, strong relationships with teachers, family partnerships, collaborative learning and understanding across cultures.
